Memberships and Regulatory Bodies
I’m a long-standing member of the Sports Massage Association, London & Counties Society of Physiologists, The Acupuncture Society and The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) for both physical and nutritional therapies. I’m also a full member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), as well as the Royal Society of Medicine. As such, I’m required to keep up to date with the most recent medical advice, clinical knowledge and evidence-based research. GPs are advised to refer patients to a CNHC Registered Practitioner.
The title 'Registered Nutritional Therapist' is used by practitioners who have completed a recognised degree course as well as one-to-one clinical training. A ‘Registered Nutritionist’ has completed the same degree-level training but without clinical experience. As such, they can give general health advice via public events, the media, books and corporate health work, but not work with individual clients.
